The elements of air and water are regarded as antagonistic in astrology, there is a connection between them. Life-giving pure waterfalls from heaven as rain; in this case, the heaven itself—the air—is a “water carrier” or Aquarius.
The Egyptian face represents water carrier that was typically slaves, and Aquarius is the sign of emancipation. Aquarius is the slave who struggles for freedom for himself and all his fellow slaves.
Free flowing water tends to represent our emotional natures, water contained or controlled by a vial or pitcher seems to represent those emotions contained and controlled by a higher faculty in order to provide wisdom.
